Reporting a sick, injured, distressed, or dead animal is the best way to make sure professional responders and scientists know about it and can take appropriate action. When you happen to find an injured or distressed animal, the first step is to identify the animal to the best of your ability. Then, contact the appropriate animal rescue or wildlife rehabilitation agency.
